Vocational Experience
Catherine is a Medical Oncologist specialising in head and neck, melanoma and skin cancer. She also works as a Medical Oncologist at Auckland City Hospital, where she is clinical lead for the head and neck cancer team.
Catherine studied medicine at the University of Auckland and completed her Medical Oncology specialist training in Auckland. Following this, she undertook a fellowship in head and neck, melanoma and skin cancer at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. During this time, she was an investigator in numerous clinical trials of novel therapeutic approaches to these cancers and gained considerable experience using immunotherapies. She has particular interest in the management of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
Catherine prides herself on her patient-centred, compassionate and evidence-based approach to her care for patients. She continues to enjoy close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care.
